We turned to our favorite resource — A Field Guide to American Houses by Virginia Savage McAlester — to get some background on this style. Although you’d be tempted to define 3218 Grantwood Drive as a midcentury modern, it’s considered to be modern or, more specifically, soft contemporary, as it was built in 1968. This particular style was a favorite of architects at the end of the 1960s and well into the 1970s. It reminds us of The Brady Bunch house.
