Inwood House of the Week: Don’t Judge This Family Friendly North Dallas Ranch By Its Calm Exterior

Update: Tryptophan coma, I failed to include address: 3737 Northview Lane.

This northwest Dallas ranch in Underwood Estates has a lot of sizzling surprises once you walk inside. Kind of like my Thanksgiving turkey — nothing to dial home about on the outside, but delicious and tender on the inside!

This 1959-built babe has been opened up, lifted, stretched and pulled, then cooked to perfection with a lot of butter under the skin. The floorplan is broad and open and we really love those arched doorways from the main living area to the kitchen, which is loaded: granite counters, an oversized center island where you could stuff 10 turkeys, stainless steel appliances and a deep double kitchen sink. There is a large laundry room and a mud room with school pack cubbies. The yard is phenomenal — .37 of an acre, loaded with mature trees. You have oodles of room for a pool or a kid’s haven. Northaven Park is a short walk down the street. 3737-Northview-old

Northview-1-1024x768Northview-3-1024x768There are five bedrooms, including a totally knocked out master suite with fireplace, step-down sitting area, and spa retreat bath featuring a jetted tub, open multi-spray shower I like to call an Ode to Joan Crawford, and large walk-in closets. Each bedroom has an updated bath. The home is also equipped with a fancy schmancy high tech wiring and sound system, and a technology center. The roof is also a 2015 vintage, which means almost brand new.

How they got all that on one story, I will never know.

Looks like it sold for $465,000. But it has had a pretty major facelift. Listed with Keller William’s Noe De Leon, who always has some snazzy homes to strut, for $719,700. Do I think they poured $300K into this home in a little over a month?

Northview-yard-rear-1024x768I don’t know, what do YOU think oh ye stuffed faithful readers? My chief complaint: I would have liked to see more marble around the master bathtub — I mean on the wall. Looks a little grander.

Hope your Holiday was fantastic! The folks at Inwood Bank and Mortgage say Happy Holidays, and come talk turkey for a new mortgage.Northview-front-1024x768
