The house featured in this week’s column served as an inspiration. Never before has a house moved me to action the way this home did. Allow me to explain.
I was waiting for a flight at Boston Logan Airport. I had found a quiet spot where I could start working on my column. Earbuds in place, music playing, and creative juices starting to flow as I look at the photos. Out of nowhere a woman sidles next to the table where I am and starts talking on her phone.
Not only could I hear her but I could hear the woman she was talking to through the speakerphone. Those creative juices came to a screeching halt.
With my head hung I thought, “I could just move.” But when I raised my head my eyes caught the photos on my computer. What came next? Inspiration!
I started singing “Do Right Woman-Do Right Man” along with the incomparable Aretha Franklin. Now it is not that I cannot sing like Aretha it is that I cannot sing. I do not have pitch, the ability to keep up with the music nor remembering all the words to the song.
But there I was by God, belting out “Do Right Woman-Do Right Man” acapella because while I could hear the music she could not. She moved.
As I sat beaming with pride, I looked at the photos of this house in an entirely new light. They were my muse, my inspiration.
This four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home is located at 79124 Lake Club Drive Bermuda Dunes, California. It is a little over 2,000 square feet and the owners are asking a little less than $1.2 million.

Now some of you may be thinking that the woman in yellow is Diana Ross. You are wrong. My daughter said the woman in the formal is Lady Gaga. I really could not focus because all I could feel was Amy’s disapproving gaze. Oh, what would she think of her immortalization in this house?

Who is the singer in pink? The lady in blue is Diana Ross. The woman in yellow is Rhianna and the woman in the chaps is Christina Aguilera. The woman in pink has me stumped.
I am deeply offended on behalf of J. Lo. That is not J. Lo. This is the J. Lo I know and love.
Cher! Of all the murals this one makes me the most nervous. I have seen what Cher can do with her right cross.

Beyonce or Mariah Carey? My daughter is in the Beyonce camp and I think that is Mariah. Much like J. Lo, if that is Beyonce a huge disservice has been done to her. This is Beyonce.

Neither my daughter nor I have a clue who this is. We reject any notion that this is Britney Spears because why would someone force Britney to watch people shower? Has she not been through enough? Free Britney!!!
And just like that, my flight is being called. Know that I will be humming away as I board the plane and I will be moving like this future diva. All I need is my glass of wine and leopard jumpsuit.
