One doesn’t have to be a fan of the Texas Christian University athletic teams to enjoy life in the Westcliff neighborhood. But if you are a fan, this is the place for you.

The neighborhood is south of TCU, making it a popular place to live for college students.

But many families also find the neighborhood a comfortable place to call home.

Located southwest of downtown Fort Worth on the west side of a stretch of Granbury Road, Westcliff offers a variety of homes. In particular, the area caters to people of a middle-class income level, but all income levels will find this scenic neighborhood a nice fit.

First-time home buyers will especially like calling it home.

Tracey Amaya, a Broker Associate with Amaya Realty Group RE/MAX Trinity, called the neighborhood home for many years. She has also sold homes there for over a quarter-century.

“The main reason Westcliff is one of my favorite neighborhoods is its proximity to a couple of trailheads that give you easy access to the Trinity River Trail system,” she said.

“So, whether you’re a runner, cyclist, or want to enjoy a leisurely walk through the park you can hop on the trail at multiple points from Foster Park to Overton to Tanglewood.”

The lot sizes in Westcliff are large with beautiful soaring oaks, with classic 1950s and ’60s ranch-style homes.

“You can still find a few homes with original Tiger Oak floors — and if you’re lucky you’ll find those floors have been protected by carpet over the last six decades and can still look amazing,” she said.

The neighborhood has easy access to amenities, including plenty of prime shopping opportunities.

The schools are also a strong attraction for families.

If golf is your thing, Ridglea Country Club and Rivercrest Country Club are a short drive away (pardon the pun).

Residents are also not far from some of the best places to eat in Cowtown. Locals love visiting Charley’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers for a diner-style experience. The Purple Frog is popular for its seafood and a wide variety of margaritas, made in-house. Charleston’s Restaurant features a laid-back pub atmosphere, and don’t leave without trying the bread pudding. If it’s wings, pizza, and an ice-cold beer you want, visit Buffalo Brothers.

Paper City and UpHomes chose Westcliff as one of its top-five neighborhoods in Fort Worth.

Of course, if you just want to enjoy a quiet time at home, Westcliff just might be the neighborhood for you.
