Every week, the detail-oriented folks at Green Scene Home Inspections will give Daltxrealestate.com readers an education in inspection. Want to see what they see? Tune in for “Upon Closer Inspection.”

Technically yes, but you need to make sure it’s done properly, and then either install a trap on the laundry drain line or make sure your dishes are scraped clean so that debris doesn’t clog the line.

Unique Installation

Never saw a water heater that was “recessed” into the wall before.

Getting The Finger

Finger joints are used in house framing to join short pieces of wood to create units of greater length. It’s a strong joint — unless of course, it’s broken. This is a good example of a reason to have a Phase Inspection if you’re building a home from the ground up.
