Hey, here are three fun facts about Mesquite: One that you knew, one you probably didn’t know, and one you definitely didn’t know.

First the obvious fact, State Legislature designated Mesquite as the Rodeo Capital of Texas. A lesser-known fact, Big Town Mall was the first air-conditioned shopping mall in the U.S. And fact three that I guarantee you didn’t know: In the late 1800s, Mesquite was as known for its many outlaws supposedly residing in the area as was its fertile agrarian roots. Prominent outlaw Sam Bass, historically known for his train robberies in Texas, robbed a train in downtown Mesquite, escaping with $152.

What do these three facts have to do with this Suburb Sunday? In this week’s round-up, we found these three homes close to shopping, entertainment, and wide open spaces.
