Within walking distance from Downtown Plano, which is still HOT even though they lost their Dude Sweet (RIP 4 real), there’s an adorable bungalow set on almost one-third of an acre. It’s rural living in the middle of the city with easy access to US-75 and basically the world.
This house is so cute and the current owners made it so cool. In the kitchen, you’ll find a tin roof ceiling, exposed brick, and open shelving. It feels modern and eclectic and the evergreen cabinets and butcher block countertops are basically *fire emoji.*
Speaking of countertops, there aren’t a ton of them, but this room is GENEROUS so you could add an island, a secondary prep area or a full-on kitchen table and chairs. Just make sure they’re a little quirky, okay?
The fixtures throughout the house are so fun. In the master there’s a tasseled chandelier and hanging 1960s swing lights instead of traditional table lamps.
Love the warm hardwoods and window treatments. Especially those woven reedy/grass/bamboo shades that make any space feel totally cozy.
In the bathroom, they kept it simple with white walls and a track of vanity lights and they even retained the wood-topped toilet seat. LOVE IT. Even though this house is a three-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage it’d be fun to get creative with a second bathroom. Maybe you add an outdoor shower? That huge backyard gives you plenty of space to create.
Or maybe you could borrow part of the utility room. It looks like it used to be a screened-in porch, but it’s enclosed now and it’s HUGE. They kept it low key with matte black industrial lighting and a free-standing stainless-steel sink. You could also add racks on racks if you wanted to hang dry your delicates.
Let’s talk about the location because we hear it’s *kind of* a big deal in real estate. JK IT’S EVERYTHING. Again, we want to reiterate it’s super close (but not like OHMYGOSH-I-CAN-HEAR-THE-CARS close) to US-75, which means commuting almost anywhere would be a breeze and on the nights you don’t feel like cooking/every night ever, just stroll on over to ZaLat, Urban Crush, Urban Rio, Lockhart BBQ, XO Coffee (which is better than its logo) or Amazeballz Cakeballs which are seriously delightful even though we personally can’t handle that phrase.
If you want that Little House on the Prairie vibe with French-pressed coffee right around the corner, you really can’t beat this bungalow.
