Get To Know East Dallas’ Greenwood Terrace

Over beyond Buckner Terrace, there’s a little pocket of custom homes called Greenwood Terrace.

Briggs Freeman’s Lisa King said you can see the progression of the neighborhood. Closer to Jim Miller, they’re Tudor style, but as you head back through the hills and trees and changing topography, the styles change, too. That’s where you’ll find 3206 Rock Bluff Drive.

Built in 1959, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is listed for a jaw-dropping $263,000. An affordable custom home in Dallas? Get the heck on out of here.

King said she wonders if this was a builder’s home because that rock wall and fireplace, plus the slate entry and the brick flooring, aren’t just run-of-the-mill details. Even in a custom home.

King used to live in this neighborhood and she loves it. She said it’s a little artist’s pocket back there. The person that bought her home is a tree conservationist. Others are traditional artists. The overall vibe is laid back and it feels like you’re in another world.

Even more so because this house has a ROOFTOP DECK. Because the house was built into the hill, the garage sits below the house. Right out the back door (those two French doors you see in the dining area), there’s a bridge that leads to the deck. King said they took down the bridge for showings, but all the original railings come with the house. She said when you’re out there, you can literally touch the tree branches and it gives you a total treehouse feel.

King said the secondary bathroom is so big that you could transform it into a suite or divide it into a full bath and half bath. In the primary bathroom the walls and floor are covered in a blue mosaic tile. Guess what? It’s original. DANG. It’s so good.

More reasons to love Greenwood Terrace aside from the incredible affordability, artist’s pocket, and mature trees? There’s a creek that runs through the neighborhood, too. The houses are solid and every now and then you can even stumble upon a double lot.

The call for best and final on 3206 Rock Bluff Drive was Monday, April 11, at noon, but now you know about this pocket and you can keep your eyes peeled for more.
