The Artist as a Realtor & Designer

This is a double whammy for the discriminating house buyer who wants to move out of the craziness of Dodge, yet still be ensconced in Park Cities/Preston Hollow style.

This home is also own by a taste-meister supreme, a Realtor turned artist and interior designer.

Most folks will recognize the name Jenn Thatcher: self-taught local artist, interior designer, style innovator now turned clothing designer.

Her one-of-a kind, Thatcher-ized home has hit the market in Argyle, and I cannot imagine it will stay on the market for long.

The home at 324 Boonesville Bend is a custom-built abode with loads of designer touches and quality details taking it several levels above most homes in this beautiful, horsey community. And it has all the ingredients that folks are seeking in homes post-COVID.

Porches, Posts, And Private Country

The very first thing on every buyer’s wish list right now is a front porch. Builders and architects say they are making a huge comeback, as the perfect place to sit and be social with neighbors while keeping a safe distance from droplets.

“Having our porches has been a game changer in this time,” says Jenn. “We especially love hosting dinner parties and Smores/ movie nights for the kids on the back patio. We have a big age range in our children from elementary age to college and all of them love to hang out with friends on the back patio.”

At Christmas time, pre-COVID, their daughter hosted 20 of her friends for an outdoor dinner and gift exchange. Their son has COVID-friendly Bible studies with friends there.

“Each one of them uses it differently, as a fun place to spend time with friends,” says Jenn.

The covered back porch also has a complete outdoor living area where you could practically live. There are ceiling fans, a TV, mounted heaters, grill and fridge, and a cozy brick fireplace that is about to get lit up once the temps knock down a notch or two. And it is completely enclosed by electric screens.

The house floor plan is open and flowing, with abundant fresh air and natural light, especially those beautiful western sunsets Argyle is famous for.

The floors are rich dark hand-scraped wood. The kitchen is transitional clean with white marble counters, gourmet stainless appliances, marble subway backsplash, glass, and covered kitchen cabinets as pristine as the day they left the factory.

Storage is abundant in every room, from the kitchen pantry to walls of shelves in the office and the bedrooms. The master bath is also loaded with storage potential featuring an oversized shower, soaking tub, and expansive vanities.

This home is on two levels with a recently added 550-square-foot, one-story casita in the back, which Jenn currently uses for her art studio. It’s also perfect for a work-from-home situation, MIL suite, or guest house.

The home is 3762 square feet, not including the back covered porch fully enclosed by electric screens. This home has four bedrooms, three full baths and a powder room. The lot is perfectly sized for kids’ fun at .25 acres.

Argyle is northwest of Flower Mound, and about 33 miles from Preston Hollow. With more and more people working from home — and this home’s office is fully functional for close-door Zooms — buyers might enjoy the quality Argyle ISD and the chance to let the kids take riding lessons every day after school.

“We were looking to raise our kids in a town that still had a hometown feel and a tight knit community spirit,” says Jenn. “Argyle is the hidden gem of the Metroplex: access to all big city conveniences, a tip-top school district, stunning homes. We are so grateful to have found this community.”

Kristen Robinsen of Simply Texas Real Estate, LLC has listed 324 Boonesville Bend at $850,000.
