  • There is currently no timetable for construction on the store to be located at FM 423 and US 380.

Frisco’s second H-E-B location cleared a hurdle Tuesday evening as the city’s planning and zoning commission approved a new site plan for the proposed location at FM 423 and US 380.

Staff reports state the grocery store is planned to sit on 22.7 acres on the west side of FM 423. City documents also show this project was submitted in December 2022 and the commission approved a 30-day extension during the Jan. 10 meeting.

Marbie Jackson, senior director of public affairs for H-E-B said there is currently no timetable for construction on this location.

H-E-B’s first store in Frisco (4800 Main Street) opened to much fanfare last year, with many lining up hours before it opened to experience the San Antonio-based grocer’s first Dallas-area location.

“Opening our flagship H-E-B format in the D-FW area has been an aspirational goal of ours for many years, and the company has a long-term commitment to serve a broad range of customers and communities across North Texas,” said Stephen Butt, President of the Central Market Division, and H-E-B Board Member in a press release following the opening of the Frisco location. “The DFW Metroplex is among the most competitive markets in the nation, and our H-E-B Partners are committed to work hard every day to earn the trust of our customers.”

Frisco’s 118,000-square-foot store is filled with state-of-the-art amenities and innovations such as True Texas BBQ, H-E-B’s lauded barbecue restaurant that was named best barbecue chain in Texas by Texas Monthly and a top barbecue chain in the nation by Thrillist, full-service H-E-B Pharmacy with a drive-thru, and Home by H-E-B.
