Friday Four Hundred: Remodeled Ranch Goes Sleek and Modern in Northwood Hills

All of those 1960s ranches with outdated wallpaper and brass fixtures, ugly tile and walls everywhere are probably pretty jealous right about now. I mean, why wouldn’t they when this lovely, attention-getting remodeled 1962 ranch at 7715 Maplecrest looks like it does. I mean, it’s sexy little number in a fantastic neighborhood, with all the upgrades you could want in a home this size.

Truly, this home is an absolute stunner. It’s a well-designed project from Gregory Hagmann Architects that was well-executed by Restructure Corporation of Dallas. It is open, daring, and still warm. It is dang-near perfect.

Perhaps that’s why the three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home with more than 2,661 square feet marketed by Clay Stapp + Co. Realtor Richard Baker actually went up in price from its original $472,500 to its now $484,500. That’s a $12,000 jump, for those who don’t want to do the math.

But what do you get for the money?

A lot, actually. While this home is definitely sexy, with its open floorplan, wood-paneled vaulted living area, stacked stone fireplace, and exposed brick, there are a lot of structural upgrades, including a very high-tech roof, as well as a kitchen with premium finish-out with maple cabinetry throughout. The lovely little pool in the backyard has had a facelift, too, with a new surface. And everything hums like a brand new Range Rover.

This home has energy efficient low-e windows are installed throughout, Kohler plumbing, designer tile, wide-plank hardwood floors, and custom cabinetry, too. You’ll love the lot as well, which is a corner lot with plenty of space at 0.428 acres.

You’re also in a fantastic area. Northwood Hills is a fantastic spot for families, with top-rated schools without sacrificing location. Just north of Spring Valley and west of Coit, you’re firmly inside Richardson ISD, but many people still refer to this area as “North Dallas.”

Still, the home is perfect for a young family, as you can move right in and not have to do a thing. OK, you’ll have to decide what range and refrigerator to put in the kitchen, and what mirrors you want to hang in the master bath, but other than that, you’re ready to move in and jump into that pool!

The rooms are a great size, with the master bedroom clocking in at 17 x 13. However, the bathrooms are all a bit small. It’s a little underwhelming, to be honest, that the common areas are large and gracious, and yet the master bath feels a bit on the tight side. Still, you do get plenty for your money, considering that this home is practically brand new.

And the backyard, which has a very stylish fence, is perfect as well. It’s just ready for you to enjoy!
