Friday Five Hundred: Unique Finishes and Gorgeous Silhouette Make This Home a Hidden Gem

From the curb, this home looks like an art installation. Three perfectly pitched roofs, entirely symmetrical with landscaping to match. The obsessive-compulsive in me just swoons.

And while the home is stunning from the outside, some unique finishes and an amazing commercial-grade kitchen lend it the kind of character that some buyers love.

Let’s pull up to the four-car porte-cochere in front of this 1970s soft contemporary in Prestonwood and take a look inside.

Throughout the home you’ll notice an eclectic mix of stone floors and trim. In the foyer there is olive marble, in the living room you’ll find concrete that is stained and polished to match the flagstone fireplace, and in the kitchen you’ll find ash Italian marble. The copper ceiling trim and baseboards are definitely eye catching, as are the designer light fixtures and tongue-in-groove Australian cypress vaulted ceilings.

This 1975-built home is located at 6611 Harvest Glen and has four bedrooms, four full baths, two living areas, a gorgeous pool in the backyard, and more than 3,700 square feet inside. It’s listed for $525,000, which comes out to a bargain $141.70 per square foot.

While some of the finishes are admittedly a bit personalized, you do have to appreciate the quality of materials used in this home’s updates. The master bath features a huge soaking tub and Grohe fixtures, while the kitchen has maple cabinetry with  stainless steel doors and counters with commercial-grade appliances.

I understand if it feels like a bit much to some people, but honestly? I kind of love it. The home is unapologetic and feels plucked from a European stylebook. Now, because this home doesn’t have that big baseline of natural appeal, it won’t sell for nearly as much as comparable homes, and may linger on the market a bit longer than others in its price range.

But I have to say that I’d home anyone would be won over by the large master suite and unique master bath. Those sinks are so clever, and the bathroom does not want for storage, either. There’s an additional sitting area with built-in cabinets, too.

And of course, there’s the backyard, which is where the home shows off those massive windows off the living room. At night, I’m sure that this side of the home just GLOWS. If you want tot tour this home, it’s open on Sunday, July 12, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. What do you think of this unique property?
