Find Well-Kept Homes With Lake Amenities in Fort Worth’s Lakes of River Trails Neighborhood

Situated between Hwy 10 to the North and Trinity Blvd to the South lies the community of the Lakes of River Trails, a neighborhood in far East Fort Worth near the border with Hurst.

A well-lit, dog-friendly community of roughly 9,000 residents with well-kept lawns and friendly neighbors, the Lakes of River Trails was established in the year 2000 by David Weekley Homes.

The Homeowner’s Association is divided into four separate boards, including North, South, East, and West, and each board puts on activities for their community members every year.

Long-time resident Tanya Freimark has lived in the Lakes of River Trails North community since its inception and said there were a couple of things she found appealing about the community when she decided to move back in 2001.

“When we first moved to our neighborhood, it was in the first phase of development,” Freimark said. “There were a lot of trees and it was affordable.  I have been here for 22 years and love it.”

Homes range in price from $430,000 to just under $600,000 and range in size from 1,659 to 2,510 square feet according to Trulia.com.

Most homes have 3-4 bedrooms and 2-3 bathrooms.

The neighborhood features Halloween games and activities, a National Night Out, Easter Bunny visits, and food and ice cream truck visits.

Freimark said the neighborhood provides a number of opportunities for residents to get together.

“We have a Neighborhood Watch Event once a year,” Freimark said. “There’s a fire truck, police car, bouncy house, hotdogs, burgers, and pony rides.  On the Fourth of July, they have a cookout and then some people watch the fireworks together. Periodically, there’s little picnic times where they have hotdogs and burgers at the playground, and then once a year, there’s a huge neighborhood garage sale.”

One of the biggest draws of the Lakes of River Trails is the number of options it provides for residents to be active.

According to Newhomesource.com, “if you enjoy walking, running or cycling, the community maintains bike and jogging trails near the lakes and parks. The trails are private to the community and lead up to the Trinity Trails. You will see residents enjoying them and the wildlife along the way.”

Students are served by the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School district, which includes Hurst Hills and River Trails Elementary Schools, Hurst Junior High, and LD Bell High School.

Freimark said that prospective home buyers should consider the Lakes of River Trails for their neighborhood if they are looking for a great place to raise a family.

“This neighborhood is very diverse,” Freimark said. “There’s a nice big lake for people that like to walk their dogs and run around the lake. We live in a very nice school district where the PTA is involved with the kids. I would say in a neighborhood most of the neighbors look out for each other, and we all feel safe. Our neighborhood is close to the major highways, and we have easy access to both Dallas and Fort Worth. It’s a nice place to live.”
