We love meeting rookies in this business, and with how hot our market is, more and more talented professionals are choosing a career in real estate. It’s no wonder that we often find go-getters from brokerages all over Dallas, but it seems like the team at Vivo Realty in Uptown is full of young, hungry agents like Kylah Boyd.

When you’re in the first year of your real estate career, it helps to have a great lender by your side. What has your lender done for you lately? See what you’re missing by calling Jeff Lindigrin at Great Western Home Loans today.

daltxrealestate.com: So, where are you from?
Kylah Boyd: Indianapolis, Indiana! Then to San Antonio, Amarillo, and finally … Dallas, Texas!

CD: So, how did you get into real estate? What’s your specialty?
KB: I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, then went back to school for insurance sales, and then computer information systems technology. I dabbled in jobs such as insurance claims processing, pharmacy technician, customer service management, payroll administration, insurance sales, and marketing/advertising for various companies. It was after all of this, that I realized that while I had a passion for sales/marketing/advertising, I needed to find a job that would allow me to combine all of this into one. So I decided to study and become a licensed real estate agent so that I could continue to use my experience.

CD: Where is home for you in Dallas?
KB: The State Thomas area in Uptown!

CD: And you drive a … let me guess, Range Rover?
KB: Not really a Range Rover girl! Right now, I drive a Scion TC. I like to keep it simple, and of course, the gas mileage is great too!

CD: What’s your favorite ‘hood in Dallas and why?
KB: Uptown, of course! Where there is always something to do, and anything is in walking distance, and the food/drink possibilities are endless!

CD: What was your best/highest sale?
KB: Wouldn’t you like to know? 🙂

CD: Likewise, what was your most challenging or memorable transaction?
KB: My most memorable transaction was being able to help a friendly young couple in need of a place to live. Makes me happy to be able to help others, and to know they have found a place they can call “home.”

CD: Tell us: What was the most interesting thing to happen to you while working with a client?
KB: I had a clients vehicle break down while in between showings. So, in the middle of the evening Dallas traffic, we jump started their car.

CD: How quickly have you ever turned a house?
KB: A work in progress!

CD: How much did you sell last year?
KB: Negative ghost rider. This is my first year in this amazing business!

CD: What words of wisdom do you often share with clients?
KB: I don’t tell any one client the same thing over and over again. I am a down-to-earth, realistic, to-the-point kind of person. I am honest with my clients, and tell them the facts, not necessarily what they want to hear. “Do unto others as you would have them unto you,” right?

CD: If you ever change careers for an encore you’ll…
KB: This is my last stop for me, Real Estate until the end.

CD: Do you have a second home? If so, where?
KB: It’s good to have goals to aspire to, right? 🙂
