The growing suburb of Forney will get its first look at Overland Grove during the grand opening for the master-planned community on Thursday.
Overland Grove, planned by developer Wynne/Jackson will have more than 1,000 single-family residential lots with tree-lined streets, self-pick orchards, and working community gardens.
Other outdoor amenities include a large resort-style pool and cabanas, children’s play areas, hiking trails, a fishing pier, private parks, and a disc golf course.
The development has two homebuilders — Taylor Morrison and Lennar.

Each Taylor Morrison home has been built with contemporary open-concept planning to create a brighter, more spacious home by combining the main living areas of the home — a kitchen, dining room and living room — into one seamless place.
Bonus rooms and flex spaces are subject to floor plan.
There are currently two Taylor Morrison houses available for sale at Overland Grove.
A three-bedroom, two-bathroom Auburn home is priced at around $299,000.
A four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom Agave home can be purchased for around $379,000.

Lennar builds each of its homes with an open concept floor plan as well, with the kitchen, nook and living room all in one open space. Each Lennar home also comes with a fireplace.
There are currently 11 Lennar houses available for sale at Overland Grove.
It’s least expensive — a four-bedroom, two-bathroom Jade home — can be purchased for around $269,000.
It’s most expensive — a five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom Sunstone home — can be purchased for around $350,000.
Each Overland Grove home site has been optimized and oversized for outdoor living, but developers planned perfectly to ensure that urban life and major points of interest are still convenient to its residents.
The community is five miles south of Lake Ray Hubbard, 14 miles east of the city of Mesquite, 20 miles from downtown Dallas and the Central Business District and 42 miles from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
