Like I don’t need one more thing in my home but several bags to take stuff out, but I cannot pass up a good Majolica sale. So head up to 11737 High Forest Drive, just off Forest Lane in between Inwood and Preston. This is not Preston Hollow folks, but who cares?
This is the home of LaVon Barnes, a lovely woman who was famous for her annual estate sales. One weekend per year she would sell exclusive prototypes from her wholesale company, the Prime Source. Her products were delectable collectibles that you might see on the shelves of Pier One, Tuesday Morning, World Market, Neiman Marcus, JC Penney, or any home decor store. She opened up her 3500 square foot home, built in 1994, up here really just behind me.
Sadly, LaVon lost her battle with cancer and her husband, Jay, with whom she shared her company as well as her home, is getting ready to downsize. We will be watching for the listing. What an honor it would be to write about such a beautiful woman’s gorgeous home.
