We need some good news in the world, and we have plenty of it right here in North Texas. Two of our favorite home-grown-then-took-over-the-world real estate brokerages are part of a company that is the largest real estate company in the nation.

HomeServices of America, has been anointed, once again, as the country’s largest real estate company based on the recently released REAL TRENDS 500 transaction report.

Which means The Ebby Halliday Companies and their three brands and Allie Beth Allman & Associates. That’s right, FOUR powerful brokerage brands in North Texas under this deeply-pocketed umbrella.

“When the Allie Beth Allman & Associates brand joined HomeServices of America, we knew our partnership would bring the best of the best together at every level for our clients,” said founder and CEO Allie Beth Allman. “At the core of any good brokerage is good agents, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team.”

Two other Texas companies made the top 10 cut: Arlington-based Keller Williams Realty Management (KW is based in Austin) and New York City-based Compass, which has several DFW offices.

REAL Trends is the nation’s predominant source of news, analysis, and information for the residential brokerage industry. Created in 1987, the privately-held publishing, consulting and communications firm is based in Castle Rock, Colorado, and headed by a brilliant guy named Steve Murray, to whom I frequently turn with industry questions. REAL Trends consults with brokerages, gathers data, and serves as an information clearinghouse for more than 300 U.S. real estate brokerages. In other words, they’ve got the business data.

The Ebby Halliday Companies include three real estate brands — Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Williams Trew. Its Core Services companies include Prosperity Mortgage, Home Team Insurance, and Texas Premier Title.

“This recognition belongs to all of the hard-working agents and staff throughout the HomeServices and Ebby Halliday families,” said Chris Kelly, president and CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies. “They have worked tirelessly to guide their clients with expertise and impeccable service toward the dream of homeownership.”

In 2019, the company closed 329,680 residential transactions and facilitated approximately 219,000 mortgage, insurance, title and escrow transactions.

HomeServices of America executives Ron Peltier and Gino Blefari recognized and congratulated employees, agents, and sales managers across HomeServices’ family of businesses for again being recognized as the country’s largest real estate company.

“This achievement affirms the hard work of our incredible team and while we are celebrating this moment, we recognize the challenges of these turbulent times,” said Blefari, CEO of HomeServices. “HomeServices is better positioned to manage through this volatility than any other real estate firm. And we are committed to supporting our agents as they safely and skillfully guide buyers and sellers through today’s home-transaction process.”

“HomeServices offers the full suite of brokerage, mortgage, title, and insurance services,” added Peltier, executive chairman of HomeServices. “That, together with our financial strength, stability, and unparalleled leadership team will continue to make HomeServices an industry leader into 2020 and beyond.”

These are unprecedented times.

A safe and secure home has never been more important, added Blefari.

“HomeServices’ family of companies is uniquely positioned to making homeownership not just a dream, but a possibility even during these extraordinary times.”

While Minneapolis-based Home Services topped the list, the other top ten brokerages include:

  • Realogy Brokerage Group of Madison, New Jersey
  • eXp Realty of Bellingham, Washington
  • Hanna Holdings/Allen Tate of Pittsburgh
  • Compass, based in New York City
  • Redfin in Seattle
  • Homesmart in Scottsdale
  • Keller Williams Realty Management offices in Arlington, Texas
  • West USA Realty, Inc. in Phoenix
  • Crye-Leike Real Estate Services out of Memphis, Tennessee

New York City-based Douglas Elliman was number 11.

Here is the complete list of rankings. Remember, HomeServices includes Ebby, Dave Perry-Miller, Williams Trew, and Allie Beth Allman & Associates:
