I love disco. Now I know a great majority of you cringed when you read that but I do not care. Unlike other disco aficionados, I am willing to be persecuted for my devotion to the most rhythmic and tribal of music genres.
“Death to Disco!” was the chant of the many not so long ago.

Many of us retreated to hide so as not to be shunned but then there were some heroes who dedicated their inner sanctum, their homes, to disco.
Now I know you are thinking, “Mimi, what in the hell are you talking about?”
Well my friends, let me tell you, Donna Summer, The Bee Gees, and Saturday Night Fever are all alive and well in this midcentury ranch home. If you are quiet you can feel the music as you tour this home.

This homage can be found at 4804 Southridge Ave, Los Angeles, California. It has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and is almost 3,500 square feet. The owners have reduced the price by $110K to $1.875 million.
You want to know what else? This home is number 1641 on the National Register of Historic Places (section 7 page 219) because of its willingness to embrace discotheque décor. To be honest, I made up that last part about the décor but that is my reasoning for it to be listed on the national register.
Embrace the Shiny

There is not a disco in this world whose entry did not have stained glass windows and shiny, silver, reflective paint on the walls. I believe this is called, “setting the mood.”

Discos were also well known for having some crazily painted walls and implementing mirrors as the main staple.
Disco Lives!
If you did not have a jungle-themed room then, you sir, were no discotheque.

You thought I was kidding? I do not kid about disco.

Now the only thing that does not fall into the disco theme of this home is the bathrooms.

No bathroom in any discotheque was ever as clean as the ones in this home. Nope, nope, nope.
And let me tell you, the vanity in the primary suite is fit for a queen.

If that queen is Donna Summer!

Long live the queen!
