Deck the halls, y’all, and if you’re not decking your own halls, there are ways to just relax and admire all the halls of others.

For the next two weekends, halls, walls, mantles, and corners will be decked out in Colleyville and Southlake. Beautiful homes will be open for public inspection of trees, stockings, garland, and more through the efforts of volunteers raising funds for charitable causes. The Colleyville Woman’s Club will host its Holiday Home Tour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Dec. 3, and then next week, while the 2023 Southlake Holiday Home Tour is set for noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 10.

Collecting holiday decorating ideas, helping worthy causes, treating yourself to lots of eye candy, or just having a good time with friends are all great reasons for attending one or both upcoming holiday home tours in Northeast Tarrant County. The houses with their volunteers are ready for a steady stream of lookers. For Colleyville, it’s the first time since 2018 that the Colleyville Woman’s Club has held its public tour, once known as an annual tradition.

“I’m excited to be bringing it back to our community,” said Kim Harrison, chairwoman of the Colleyville home tour. “The community was interested in having it back and our membership wanted it back, too. It’s going to be fun, and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Even though this year marks the 45th time the Colleyville Woman’s Club has hosted its holiday tour, it’s hardly business as usual. There’s a new detail — shuttles will deliver visitors from home to home. The new transportation system is a workaround for the traffic tangles of previous years that didn’t result in jolly guests or jolly neighbors. Now the tour will begin with a check-in at the Colleyville Recreation Center, and the shuttle will transfer guests to the feature homes, making parking and getting around a lot easier for all involved.

This home is included in Sunday’s Colleyville Woman’s Club holiday tour.

This year the club will showcase three private residences, plus the city’s historic Webb House and its adjacent caboose, a city-owned site featuring a 1914 structure.

You may purchase tickets at the door, 5009 Roberts Road, today for $45. The annual tour serves as a fundraiser for the club’s charity projects and college scholarships.

Southlake Homes on Tour Dec. 10

Then the next weekend, the Southlake Holiday Home Tour, sponsored this year by Engel & Voelkers real estate company, will highlight four million dollar-plus homes. Besides offering beautifully decorated homes, the tour will benefit two charitable causes.

Tickets are on sale now for $40 at the Southlake event web page. In addition, a limited number of tickets are available for Mrs. Claus’ VIP Tour.  For $100: the VIP experience will include transportation at 11:30 a.m. for small groups from Jane in Park Village, 1151 E Southlake Blvd. with a planned 3:30 p.m. return.

Lots of work went into the arrangements.

“It’s taken nine months to plan,” said broker Roxann Taylor, who is happy her company is involved in a tour of homes to raise money for others. “People should come for the experience and know that they’re going to see great, beautiful homes all decorated for Christmas and helping The Gifting Project and Special Olympics.”
