Dallas Mortgage Banker Lisa Peters Continues Her Mission at Cardinal Financial

It’s been nearly a year since Dallas mortgage banker Lisa Peters left her long-time team at Caliber Home Loans and joined Cardinal Financial as Producing Branch Manager. The time has flown by for the lending veteran who carries the banner for homeownership as a generational wealth builder.

But I don’t necessarily mean the multimillion-dollar estate in Highland Park that you pour your liquid assets into as a tax shelter. Yes, Peters can design the right loan for a large purchase like that. But Peters is really passionate about someone’s first home — the one they saved and scrimped for the down payment and hope to pass down to their children one day. That’s partly why she left real estate as an agent in the 1980s and went to work with residential home loans at Park Cities Mortgage. She wants to help people buy their dream home and build wealth for their family.

Now, four decades later, Peters continues that mission at Charlotte-based Cardinal Financial, a work-from-anywhere company that’s been named a multiple Best Places to Work winner.

The native Texan grew up in Garland and moved to Oak Cliff, where she purchased a home — and a city — she fell in love with. She’s lived in East Kessler Park ever since.

As part of her weekly sponsored listing on daltxrealestate.com, she always selects great homes for us to feature as the Highlight Home, sponsored by Lisa Peters of Cardinal Financial. My favorites are usually the Oak Cliff ones in her neighborhood, a Midcentury Modern, or anything pre-war that might have had some cool residents along the way.

She’s met some cool residents over the years, too. Today repeat clients are the bulk of her business, and she enjoys helping young clients move up into larger homes and watching their families grow. Recently she contacted a client whom she had helped secure a loan in 2017 and was able to refinance their home at a lower rate and save $600 a month.

“That type of interaction is very typical and so gratifying,” Peters says. “I have clients I’ve done five and six mortgages for over the years.”

See what kind of loan Peters can design for you by contacting her at [email protected].
