Collin, Denton Counties Saw Sizable Increases in Monthly Home Sales

Sales of single-family homes by real-estate agents were up more than 30 percent from a year ago in Collin and Denton counties, according to the MetroTex Association of Realtors’ November sales reports.

The county-by-county market statistics are compiled by the Dallas-based group and supported by the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University.

Collectively in North Texas, agents closed on 31,847 homes in November, up 23.4 percent. Active listings were down 35.9 percent, however.

Across North Texas, the home inventory is at 2 months compared with 3.3 months last year. The median selling price in North Texas was $269,500, which was 12.8 percent higher than a year ago.

Collin County closed sales on 1,482 homes in November, an increase of 30.3 percent. Collin had its homes 35 days on market and 36 days to close, a total of 71 days, which was 24 less than a year ago. Active listings were down 58.3 percent, the largest in North Texas, while the median price increased 11.6 percent, to $364,900.

Denton County closed on 1,387 homes, up 30.2 percent from last November. The county had its homes 34 days on market and 37 to close, also a total of 71 days, which was 23 less than a year ago. Active listings were down 53.3 percent while the median price was up 8.1 percent to $340,000.

Tarrant County leads North Texas in total home sales with 2,296 sold by agents in November. Dallas County was second with 2,213. Kaufman County total home sales increased by nearly 44 percent.
