We Christened Antek’s New Preston Center Store Last Night, & Stuck a River Right Through It

We told you that Anteks, that fabulous rustic home furnishings store in the Dallas Design District, has spun a sibling. It’s called Anteks Curated, a home accessories, furniture, and gift shop in the Plaza at Preston Center. Oh the main store is still on Dragon Street in the Design District, but this location sure beats a 15 minute drive on the tollway!

So we brought in the folks from The River Club in Telluride, COLO, to help celebrate the new store. What’s the River Ranch? A fabulous fractional second home community that has a whole lot of Dallas owners, as we learned at the event. Marketing Director Emily Ballou came to town for the party, which had a dual purpose for her: visiting her family and connecting with River Club owners.

Though she lives in Telluride full time, Emily grew up north of Dallas in the Frisco area. She chuckled a few times when she heard me refer to properties “up north”. A lot of Dallas Real Estate agents stopped by, too, to learn more about the vacation home ownership opportunities for clients or themselves: Brandon Hawkins, Juliette Coulter, Ira Archer and Irmgard Arthur, Allison Hayden, Karen Luter, Bernice and David Maez among others. Even Jane McGarry stopped by: Jason helped her furnish most of her Montana home with Antek’s merchandise.

You will be hearing a lot more about The River Club on these pages. Meantime, I was super impressed with Jason’s curated store. Beautiful merchandise: handmade antler-and-silver knifes, lovely linen-and-embroidery pillows from Coral and Tusk, and step stools. The store’s section of men’s clothing and accessories kept my husband occupied — he really likes the waterproof blankets for rugged picnics: shall I get him one? I love the blown glass and pitcher collections, bow ties made of feathers from Brackish, and of course since I’m such a bag lady, the canvas and leather bags. Of course Jason Lenox’s fabulous silver and turquoise jewelry boxes were flying out the door. I am loving this framing of an antique Hermes scarf:

Anteks Curated is now open, nestled between Mal Malouf and Pockets, across from Taco Diner. See you there!
