Last week Wednesday we were hopping all over town, from open houses to D Magazine’s Best Doctor at ZaZa to Cantoni, the modern furniture retailer and design studio, on Alpha Road in North Dallas.
Cantoni threw open their doors to honor the nonprofit Dwell with Dignity and host its highly anticipated fundraiser, ThriftStudio.
Guests indulged in Italian wines, cocktails by Deep Eddy Vodka and VIDA Tequila with bites by Spice of Life Catering, all while enjoying music by DJ Lucy Wrubel. As part of the evening, we got a first look at the new Calligaris Studio at Cantoni, a 1,600 square foot showroom featuring contemporary furnishings, lighting and accessories from the iconic Italian line, which is exclusive to Cantoni in Dallas. It’s a stunning collection, go see it.
Thrift Studio designers selected Calligaris pieces to incorporate into their vignettes for the nonprofit’s upcoming 30-day pop shop, where 100% of the proceeds benefit Dwell with Dignity’s mission to help families in Dallas escape poverty and homelessness through design.
Thrift Studio will take place at the Dallas Design Center from October 10th – November 8th, following the Preview Party on October 9th.
The huge Alpha Road store was filled with Michael Wilkov, (Cantoni Founder and CEO), Stefano Uliana (Calligaris, Americas’ Vice President), Lisa Robison (Dwell with Dignity Founder), Kim Turner (Dwell with Dignity Vice President and Director), Lisa Nelson (Dwell with Dignity Executive Director) and a host of designers, Realtors and supporters, including MOI!

Thrift Studio is a bi-annual 30 day pop-up shop created to provide financial viability and fundraising for Dwell with Dignity
through selling donated furniture, housewares, accessories and high end designer finds to the public. All proceeds benefit the
future work, growth, organization and structure of Dwell with Dignity. Each Thrift Studio has a cast of fabulous designers who
design and install vignettes using items from the Dwell with Dignity warehouse as well as items they have donated from their own inventory or through their industry connections. All items are for sale to allow Dwell with Dignity to help families escape poverty and homelessness.
