[Editor’s Note: This year has been a decade, right? So many things happened, lots of things were postponed, and houses continued to sell despite it all. While the Daltxrealestate.com team takes a hot minute this holiday season to recharge the ol’ Energizers, we’re serving up our very favorite stories from 2020. Enjoy!]

Nikki: I love this little condo. I love the backstory, I love the location and most of all I love the design. I know it’s only a one bedroom, one bathroom and people *might* need more space, but I think at this price, buy it and make it your Great Quarantine Escape. Anytime you need a break you can dramatically shout, “IF YOU NEED ME I’LL BE AT MY SECOND HOME ON OAK LAWN.” It definitely has some flare, right?

Years ago, Dave Perry-Miller’s Jeremy Whiteker was helping a client that also happened to be a friend look for houses. They weren’t having any luck, but Whiteker knew about a boutique condominium community on Holland Avenue. One small snag, no one was selling. What Whiteker did next will shock you.

I’m kidding. That’s the clickbait to get you to keep reading.

What he did was kick total butt as a Realtor.

He wrote letters to every unit in this super cute complex AND IT WORKED. The former owner of 4031 Holland Avenue, Unit F, said he was interested in selling.

Whiteker and his client took a look, made an offer and what do you know? His client had a new home. And a new project.

Clearly, his client has an eye for detail and design. This condo looks like it was ripped from the pages of Architectural Digest and the number of saves it’s garnered online proves it.

Not only that, the location is fabulous and it’s well priced. If you’re looking to downsize or right-size or smart-size, this very well could be the place for you.

We’ll start with the gorgeous granite countertops in the kitchen paired with classic clean-front cabinets. The appliances are stainless steel because apparently, that’s the law these days, but take a look at that slide-in range. EVEN IT IS EXTRA CLASSY.

Just a head’s up on how far this kitchen’s come — those countertops used to be Formica. *GASP* *FAINTS* *CLUTCHES PEARLS ON THE WAY DOWN*

How about the dark stain on that wood flooring, too? It’s the PERFECT contrast to all the brightness and lightness. How can you get away with such dark floors? The aforementioned brightness/lightness and also, crazy tall ceilings — 10 feet even — which is unusual for 1982 condo construction.

Now, the countertops in the bathroom might actually be better than the kitchen if that’s possible. Dual sinks, clean-front cabinets, and polished chrome fixtures round out this serene little space.

As for outdoor living in this space, there’s a pretty expansive patio above the parking spaces that is shared. There’s also a breezeway to this particular unit that’s also shared, but a bit more private. That’s the other thing Whiteker pointed out — there’s a quiet privacy to this community that makes Unit F a can’t miss.

If you’d like a guided, socially distanced tour, reach out to Whiteker. He’s listed this one-bedroom, one-bathroom, 800-square foot unit at $289,000.
