You know what we always say — read Daltxrealestate.com and share it with your friends. (Wink!)

But also, if you are given the opportunity to purchase an architect’s personal home, do it. Immediately. No question. They’re the best.

This is one of those houses, as you might have guessed. In a rather tragic turn of events, unless you have a time machine you cannot make an offer because it’s already under contract.

And I realize I look like a real jerk dangling an already-spoken-for carrot, but I do try to only bring you available homes. It’s just that in this market … *low whistle* … I TRY.

Nonetheless, here are the scoops on this one. It’s in Oak Park Estates which is in Oak Cliff, but a little beyond. It’s a hilly neighborhood that feels suburban because that’s what it was created for. Commuter families back in the day.

This one is a midcentury with an A-Frame that was reimagined inside by a very capable reimaginer. He’s an architect. We covered that. He purchased this house with his wife and they got to WORK. I mean, they hired contractors, but they did have big ambition and pulled off some pretty big things.

Such as the ceilings — they busted right through those classic eight-footers and created the stunning vaulted ceilings you see here. Those skylights are new, too. A lot of the homes over in this area don’t have a ton of natural light, so killer idea. The fireplace was their idea, too.

In the kitchen they removed one wall, but Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s DeCarla Anderson they stayed pretty true to the original kitchen footprint otherwise. Just taking down the one wall made a world of difference.

Anderson said originally this was a four-bedroom home, but the rooms were kind of small. So, they took two bedrooms and combined them to create an impressive primary bedroom with an incredible ensuite bathroom. Oh, and let’s talk about that closet, which is unheard of for this era of house.

Well. Done.

In the bathrooms they kept is classic, but architects know what’s up. The leather handles and cabinet pulls are such nice little detail.  The light fixtures are really simple, too, but they have that little something and look rich as heck. The birch cabinets are so gorgeous. Everything is just impeccable. What an overused word, but IT IS.

In a regular world, the house at 2115 Dancliff Drive would still be available for the list price of $349,900. Though honestly, maybe not because it’s just that good.
