The Alger Park/Ash Creek neighborhood is fairly small, bounded by Peavy Road, Ash Creek, N. Buckner, and the railroad tracks that run in front of W.H. Gaston Middle School. It’s an upper middle-class area with lots of small families (two or three members), and the location has undeniable appeal. It’s only a few miles from White Rock Lake, the Dallas Arboretum, and Lakewood shopping and dining options.
Let’s check out the interior and its vintage glory. A pink stacked brick fireplace, hardwood floors, wood paneling on on wall, and a built-in bench are features of the living room. The next room over, a dining room, provides a cozy, bright space for meals.
Behind the living room is a sunken back room with Terrazzo floors and a wall of windows looking out onto the backyard. In North Texas, screened patios are useless many months of the year because of the heat, so a room like this provides a space that feels connected to the outdoors, but is usable year-round.

This Alger Park Midcentury offers so much for well under $300K; my favorite parts are the landscaping, original stone fireplace, and the open rooms. There are only two other houses in the neighborhood on the market now, so if you’re interested, better act fast.
