Coldwell Banker strongly believes in giving back to the communities they serve.

“We’re a part of the community so giving back is just a natural part of what we do,” Robyn Price, Coldwell Banker Residential, Lakewood.

Throughout the city, they help organize pet adoption events. As a company, their sole purpose is helping people find homes so helping dogs find homes is a natural fit.

Price isn’t sure how they got involved in Homes for Dogs, but she’s been active for years and this year, she’s taking it up a notch.

unnamed-3-e1569209338189Inspired by Dallas CASA’s Parade of Playhouses – the annual fundraiser that takes place at NorthPark – Price had an idea. What if they built and raffled doghouses, too?

With no shortage of work, blueprints, and plans, Price got to work. She recruited her boyfriend to create a Midcentury-style doghouse because dogs like to live on-trend, too, you know.

Each doghouse will be on display this coming Saturday, October 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pet Supplies Plus located at 6060 E. Mockingbird Lane.

unnamed-3-e1569209338189There will also be several stellar pups to adopt and if you can’t make the event, don’t sweat it, you can donate on the Go Fund Me Page. Price said she gets it, with two dogs and a cat, “her inn is full,” but she also knows the desire to help in any way you can. That way is a donation and it can go a long way in helping cover the costs of expensive medical procedures so they can get the pups back on all paws and up for adoptions.

There was one employee, Stephen Foster, that was super special and had a huge heart so when it closed he opened a doggy daycare out of his home. Then he founded Forgotten Friends in 2012 and now we’re full circle.

So far, Homes for Dogs has helped 20,000 pets find a home. You can find a full list of adoption events around the city here and if you’d like to drop off supplies, that’s on the list too.
