A New Luxury Transitional Mansion Sets the Standard

  • We have always had high expectations of luxury homes in Dallas.
  • We all want to live large today.
  • “He builds his homes as if he were the client.”

This transitional mansion is a masterpiece. I say that with complete confidence because architect Richard Drummond Davis and builder Mark Rose combined their talents on this project.

They’ve broken the mold on what we should expect from new luxury construction.

Many of us are familiar with Davis’ award-winning architectural firm because of their captivating European-inspired classic designs, but they’ve created just as many stunning contemporary homes.

In this transitional mansion, they have blended classic symmetry with modern elements and given equal weight to form and function.

We have always had high expectations of luxury homes in Dallas.

However, as our buyer base is rapidly expanding to include an influx of companies from both coasts, architects and builders are constantly challenged to create bigger, better, and more innovative homes.  This luxury transitional mansion checks every box.

I cannot imagine a buyer from Holmby Hills or Westchester who would not find this transitional mansion the perfect place to call home.

We all want to live large today.

The concept of large isn’t just interior space. Buyers want land, and this beauty sits on just under an acre in the heart of one of the most coveted areas in Dallas. At 10,204 square feet with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and two powder baths, there is more than enough room for those returning college students and extended family members that we want under one roof now.

“He builds his homes as if he were the client.”

While quality is a given with a luxury home, this is next-level. When I talked to  Compass listing agent Jonathan Rosen about this gorgeous transitional mansion, I don’t think I’ve ever heard him this excited. He ticked off just a few of the exquisite details for me.

“I can’t even explain the level of quality,” Rosen said. “The floating staircase is made of limestone, and the handrail is a cold steel application to obtain the pewter finish. All the transitions from the hallways are wrapped in limestone. The trim adds such a level of detail, but it is refined, not ostentatious. It’s a level of sophistication we don’t see as much anymore.”

When Mark Rose builds a home, he’s on-site every day, overseeing each detail.

He builds his homes as if he were the client, so every detail is thought out to provide not only beauty but also function. From the glass-enclosed wine wall in the dining room to the steam shower in the principal suite and the Savant smart home system, no amenity has been overlooked.

There’s even a safe room in one of the suite’s closets.

The back patio is temperature-controlled with louvered doors and overlooks the gorgeous pool and Harold Leidner landscaping. Rose left 1,500 square feet of unfinished space over the garage to cater to buyer-specific needs. If you require nanny quarters, another home office, or a guest suite, this is the perfect location, and this luxury transitional mansion is the perfect home.
