A Corsicana Cottage That’s Updated Inside And Out

Well now, here’s a two-story Craftsman in Corsicana that’s been updated and it’s under $300,000.

Built in 1950 with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 1,770 square feet, so many of the original details remain and have even been restored – the shiplap and the hardwoods in the living and dining rooms to name a few. Then the sellers went and did all the mechanical stuff, too. They leveled the foundation and replaced wiring, windows, the roof, and more.

The kitchen couldn’t be cuter and there’s a breakfast nook with a built-in that’s just begging to be a coffee bar. I love it when spaces are the perfect blend of original charm and modern details like the matte black fixture in the kitchen.

There’s an additional bonus space upstairs that hasn’t been completed but would be a dynamite storage room, kids’ playroom, or yoga studio.

Fall in Love With Corsicana

If you’re not familiar with Corsicana, it’s a lake town with a small community feel. Probably because it is a smaller community. Ha. But it’s growing and it’s home to the Richland Chambers Lake, the third largest in the State of Texas.

You know that lake is a big pull and if you want to find the locals, check the water. There’s fly fishing, kayaking, and even just relaxing shoreside. With an adorable Main Street, its own vineyard, Angelita, and plenty of locally owned shops and restaurants, Corsicana consistently lands on the best day trips from Dallas list. (Which is another pretty killer thought for this cute little home – investment opportunity.)

As for the arts, they got you. There’s an artist residency, Corsicana Opry with both an event center AND haunted tours, a planetarium and so much more. Speaking of stars, the city of Corsicana is already gearing up for the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8 of next year. Buy this cute little house and you can be settled in long before then.

EXP Realty’s Leslie Melton has 2112 N. Beaton Street listed for $259,999.

If you’re following along with what I write (you’re not), this is apparently the second in a series about chocolates. Russell Stover is based in Corsicana. (CocoAndre was the first in the series from Saturday.) Guess what other businesses started here? Mobil Oil and Wolf Brand Chili!! How random.

“Nikki, are you just reading the Wikipedia page?” How dare you. I most definitely am not. It’s visitcorsicana.com thank you very much.
