With arching shade trees, rolling terrain, and an abundance of greenbelt areas, including Five Mile Creek cutting through the center of it, the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Oak Park Estates paints a pretty picture, just seven miles south of downtown Dallas. In the middle of that area and with a picturesque view of Kiest Park, the house at 1652 Trailridge Dr. is completely renovated with an open floorplan and pretty finishes.

This is our Thursday Three Hundred and it has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living areas, and 1,853 square feet on one story, built in 1956.

Oak Park Estates is a storied neighborhood, developed in the mid-1950s by local Dallas developers Vernon and James Smith, with the southern section added in the 1960’s by developer Fred Partleton, according to Heritage Oak Cliff:

“There are approximately 590 homes in the neighborhood. The northern and southern sections are separated by Five Mile Creek, which runs through the middle of the neighborhood and is a wildlife haven, exhibiting many species of birds, reptiles and mammals…Oak Park Estates has a rich history of community involvement. There has been a neighborhood association, crime watch committee, and/or garden club existing as far back as the early 1960’s. The current Oak Park Estates Neighborhood Association (OPENA) was officially incorporated in January 2008.”

Lots of new features in this house, from nail-down hardwood floors throughout and low-E windows to a new HVAC system, electrical panel, 30-year roof, water heater, LED recessed lights, and wood privacy fence.

A new kitchen is open to the living/dining areas and offers marble countertops, center island, bearkfast bar, sleek glass tile backsplash, white Shaker-style cabinets, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range.

Two of the three bedrooms have hardwoods and the third is a flexible space with tile floor. The updated bathrooms have new wood cabinets, granite countertops, porcelain tile floors, shower enclosures, and toilets. The master bath has a large frameless shower and dual sinks.

The backyard has a two-car attached garage, landscaping, and a privacy fence.

This Oak Park Estates home was listed March 6 by Laura Gambini Anderson with William Davis Realty for $320,000.
