Old or new? Driving down Coronado Avenue, it’s pretty obvious which homes are original 1940s cottages and which are the result of a teardown. Usually, the size alone will tip you off, but it’s nice to see many homes like this Inwood Home of the Week have as much classic Tudor flair as the originals. Case in point: the 2019-built Tudor at 7118 Coronado Avenue in Lakewood by Douglas Signature Homes.

“The home was thoughtfully designed for the ultimate in modern living,” says Michelle Hopson of Compass RE Texas. The 4,869-square-foot home has five bedrooms and four and half-baths — a private guest suite downstairs and four bedrooms including the master retreat upstairs.

One room that’ll get lots of use these days is the home office, which has French doors for privacy and gorgeously painted built-ins with shelves, cabinet space, and built-in art nook. The office overlooks the covered front patio, giving you perfect filtered light without any direct sun.

Back out into the hallway, the entry opens to the open concept living area with kitchen and casual dining. The kitchen has an 11-foot seamless Cambria quartz island, Walker Zanger kitchen backsplash, and Kitchenaid stainless steel appliances. There is a built-in wine fridge, an oversized walk-in prep pantry, and mudroom adjacent.

In the expansive living area, built-in custom cabinetry flanks the tile-framed fireplace. The living room overlooks the back covered patio with an outdoor kitchen that features a 36-inch built-in grill and drop-in beverage cooler.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has tray ceilings, tree-top views, and lots of light.Herringbone wood flooring lines the spa-like bath that features a frameless shower, free-standing soaking tub, marble countertops with dual vanities, and an impressive walk-in closet.

This smart home includes a Google Home Hub to manage lighting, climate control, and easily view the included Nest Hello video doorbell while the garage door and kitchen oven can be controlled via app.

Michelle Hopson of Compass RE Texas has listed 7118 Coronado Avenue for $1.395 million.
