This Oak Point Waterfront Custom Build Has East Coast Vibes

A few years ago, there was a family relocating from the East Coast. They were looking for something tranquil, tucked away in nature and near water. What they found was an incredible lake lot in Oak Point. What is now offered by Compass Real Estate’s Angela Downes is an even more incredible custom home that’s absolutely gorgeous to look at, but even more amazing when you discover the secret gems inside.

If there is a No. 1 feature, it’s the location. The home was built on a two-acre lot with a private pool set in a fully turfed backyard that’s low maintenance, cool to touch, and the perfect playground for kids of all ages — and that’s not even the best part. The best part is it’s walking distance to the shore of Lewisville Lake. A reminder of home for the thoughtful, trendsetting couple that not only imagined this home but meticulously brought it to life.

If you’re not familiar with Oak Point, now is a great time to get acquainted. It’s near Little Elm, 20 minutes to the Tollway, PGA Golf Course, and Cowboy Club. And this house is a teeny two miles from the Prestonwood Polo and Dallas Corithian Yacht Clubs.

An Oak Point Home Full of Possibility

The living room is lined with accordion doors that open to the most spectacular views. And on these perfect days when there’s a gentle breeze that you’re dying to let indoors along with all the natural light, you can. Downes said there’s a screen that runs the length of the living room to keep nature (and any flies buzzing around) officially on the other side.

With two primary suites – one up and one down – it’s a home that’s filled with possibility. Maybe you bunk downstairs in the winter and in the summer, you camp out in the primary upstairs with a screened-in balcony that runs the length of the house. Perfect for coffee in the morning, cocktails in the evening, and sunrise yoga, too.

Another room with a twin? The office. That’s right, there are two offices set back to back and separated by a wall. (Obviously.) But, that wall can come down if you only need one office. I’m telling you, this family thought of everything.

There’s a dog wash in the laundry room that’s just as magazine-worthy as the rest of the house and the floors are made for life at the lake – an engineered hardwood that can handle a day at the beach. They’re so dang pretty, too. Love a wide plank.

Rounding out the East Coast vibes, there’s an outdoor shower for post-pool sudsing or anytime you’re in the mood for a sun- or moon-soaked scrub.

It’s a truly spectacular home that’s spacious, restrained, and set at the end of a long gravel drive. On either side of the driveway, there’s a sprinkler system which Downes said is also rare. Though the rarest is seeing a home for sale on the east side of the lake. That’s your cue to snag this one before it’s gone.

The perfect place to plot your snag? At the broker open house on Monday, Oct. 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. She also said the lot next door is for sale, too. You know, just in case you want to make that two-acre lot a four-acre lot and secure a little extra privacy.

Downes has 1180 Oak View Court listed for $2.45 million.
