Collin County Association of Realtors Unveils New Name to Reflect Membership

North Texas’ second-largest professional Realtor association now has a new name. The Collin County Association of Realtors rebranded last month to become the Collin County Area Realtors — a move they say will better reflect its changing member demographics.

Collin County Association of Realtors was founded in 1957 as a non-profit organization that provides professional development and networking for Collin County real estate agents and brokers. CCAR now has approximately 11,000 members, second only to Dallas County-based Metrotex, which has 27,000 members.

Shana Acquisto, CCAR President

Realtors don’t have to be from Collin County in order to join CCAR. Embracing the “Collin County area” is a deliberate move to acknowledge the group’s diverse membership beyond the borders of Collin County, CCAR leaders say.

“Collin County Association of Realtors has always been an inclusive organization,” CCAR President Shana Acquisto said. “Now our new name reflects our commitment to inclusivity and support of our members across Collin County as well as the surrounding areas.”

Dynamic Growth

Collin County, with a population of more than 1.1 million residents in 2023, has seen a robust 43 percent growth since 2010. But some Collin County towns have seen four-digit percentages of growth.

“Everything’s gone north,” said Acquisto, an agent/broker with Frisco-based Acquisto Real Estate. “With so much growth in Collin County, real estate has evolved significantly.”

Collin County is now the sixth largest county in Texas by population, behind Harris, Dallas, Tarrant, Bexar, and Travis counties respectively.

“We do a lot of relocations,” Acquisto said. “And even though the market as a whole has slowed, we’re still seeing 80 people move to Collin County every day.”

The county is home to several major corporate headquarters, including some Fortune 500 companies. The city of Plano, in particular, has become a hub for businesses in various industries, making it a significant contributor to the county’s economic prosperity.

The transition to Collin County Area Realtors will be accompanied by a revitalized brand identity, complete with a fresh logo. Acquisto said the group did studies and research as part of the rebranding to understand how the group’s revised logo can better represent its diverse members.

CCAR is located at 6821 Coit Road in Plano and has satellite offices in McKinney, Sasche, and a brand new office in Frisco at 8000 Preston Road. More than 1,000 brokerage offices are listed on CCAR’s member directory, including offices in Allen, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Frisco, Grapevine, Lewisville, McKinney, and Richardson.
