When Erick and Chelsea moved into this Casa View Haven home in 2019, it had already been updated. And it was quite lovely. But one look at these cool kids and you know they know what’s up. They moved in, rolled up their sleeves, and got to work.

Erick, Chelsea, and their future design star

They swapped out the light fixtures and added their own mix of West Elm and Etsy. They added a horizontal board-on-board fence, custom Low-E windows, and custom cabinetry.

They updated the landscaping on this Casa View Home, too, Chelsea said.

“We had a crew level [the yard] and put in sod,” she added, “but Erick did the majority of the work himself.”

The plumbing also got some updates, too, and Chelsea said they did other “not-so-fun or exciting things that we won’t bore you with.”

The point is, they did a lot. They made this house a truly delightful home and they’ve loved every minute of it.

“Our favorite thing about the house has been watching it come to life and making memories here with our friends and family,” she said. “We love that the area is full of beautiful Midcentury homes, mature trees, good people, and proximity to everything from downtown to White Rock Lake. Also, our neighbors are rad, and I’ll personally really miss our neighbor’s super friendly black cat named Squeaky.”

When it comes to style, they obviously have a great eye. They love to mix vintage and budget pieces with higher-end items. Their go-to shops are Article, Citizenry, Etsy, West Elm, and Target.

The key is being open-minded and always on the lookout. Chelsea said they found a wonderful vintage two-tiered side table on the curb. And her current favorite accessory? Throw pillows from Ebb & Thread.

If you want to steal their style, there’s your cheat sheet.

As if this house isn’t interesting enough, David Griffin & Company’s David Collier not only has the listing, but he also grew up over there. He knows those homes very well and the corner fireplace isn’t original. It’s something you see in newer construction so you have a dedicated wall for your TV and console. Or you know, art, because I guess it’s not ALL about TV. Is it?

Anyway, just one more little fun fact for you to file away when you build your dossier on 10447 Sylvia Drive which is currently listed for $355,000.
