Nancy Markham, seen here with her husband Dewey, is happy with her decision to join Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s.

Do you have an agent migration? Contact Joshua Baethge.

In August Nancy Markham moved to Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s after a long tenure with the Keller Williams Jan Richey team. She hasn’t looked back since.

“I absolutely love it,” Markham said. “I was at Keller Williams for almost 17 years and I’m very loyal, but this was such a good opportunity. I’m just smiling all the time now.”

Markham had read Robbie Briggs’ weekly Wall Street Journal column for years and knew that she wanted to be a part of his company because of what she felt was their true commitment to the luxury experience regardless of price range.

“There is agent support for all facets of our work, whether it’s marketing, legal, strategy or technology related,” she said. “The responsiveness of these teams is just as impressive. I’m now able to offer that same support and responsiveness to my clients.”

After a few years, she moved to Washington D.C. to work with Gensler. She returned to Dallas in 1994, married longtime friend Dewey Markham and put her career on hold to start a family. Nine years later, she was ready to re-enter the workforce, this time as a real estate agent.

“Because of my strong architectural design and construction skills, real estate seemed like a natural direction,” she said.”

A self-described people pleaser, Markham said she still loves real estate and talking with interesting people every day. The job allows her to utilize many skills from her previous profession to help clients find what they want.

“Sometimes there are diamonds in the rough and I’m there to smooth out the rough spots,” she said.

In many ways joining a new team was like starting over for her. It’s been a challenging but rewarding experience that she thoroughly enjoys each day.

“Everything is great,” Markham said.
