The soft drink’s original slogan from the 1920s proclaimed Dr Pepper “the King of Beverages.” Oftentimes, advertisements showed “Old Doc,” a typical country doctor character with a monocle and top hat, prescribing Dr Pepper as the cure for what “ails” you.
