It’s Fairview‘s turn to grow.

Most of the cities in Collin County have experienced a torrent of residential development. Now, the town of Fairview — an 8.7-square-mile space tucked between Allen’s northern side and McKinney’s southern border — is set to grow with a major apartment community in the works.

Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co. is preparing to break ground on an $86 million apartment community at Fairview Town Center, according to planning documents filed with the state.

The community will be south of Murray Farm Road and east of Fairview Station Parkway. Construction is scheduled to start in September with the development expected to open in March 2024. Dallas-based WDG Architecture designed the project.

Fairview Town Center fronts the town, which has been incorporated since 1958. The town has a population of over 9,000, according to the 2020 U.S. Census.

The town’s closest thing to fame was the footnote that Candy Montgomery, who was accused of murdering her friend and was the subject of two true-crime streaming television series, lived there.

But it’s hard not to miss Fairview’s business selling point. Paired with The Village at Allen outdoor shopping mall, Fairview Town Center provides a shopping haven along the Stacy Road corridor.

Lincoln Property bought Fairview Town Center, a 1 million-square-foot mixed-use project, in 2017 and has added more than $50 million on upgrades.

Further south off U.S. 75 in Dallas, Lincoln Property also developed Carlisle & Vine Apartments. Lincoln also developed apartments in Chicago, Nashville, and Minneapolis.
