Real estate professionals have another digital tool at their fingertips thanks to a Dallas-based entrepreneur.
Shayan Hamidi recently announced Rechat, a lead-to-close agent workflow platform in an app. Rechat has been in development since 2015 and is designed to provide real-estate pros and brokerages increased access to data.
Yes, it’s another app, but this tool aggregates the multiple features and tasks that real-estate pros needs in a one-stop place. If used as intended, agents might be able to delete several apps already cluttering their smartphone screens.
Among the integrated tools include Google, Dropbox, Facebook, DocuSign, Twilio, GIPHY, and Okta. The app provides a full range of services, including market listings, community chat features, connections with other real-estate professionals, and the ability to build personal brands. Rechat also features an integrated MLS system, marketing, and social engagement management, sales flow automation, and more.
“The pandemic has changed the way real-estate agents work, and this new easy-to-use platform empowers them to manage their contacts and relationships, market themselves and their listings, and actually close transactions — all in a single app,” Hamidi said in a press release.
“Agents simply sign-up and instantly gain access to a fully-integrated platform that was designed with real estate professionals’ needs in mind, enabling them to build their own personal brands from the palm of their hands.”
Robbie Briggs, CEO of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty in North Texas, said Rechat’s features have been “game-changers.”
“Rechat allows our team to stay connected at every point in the sales process and exceed client expectations, even when we’re not always face-to-face — for example, during the pandemic,” Briggs said.
Dallas-Fort Worth has a number of North Texas-based real-estate tech companies, including Nada, HomeMatchX, Door.com, RealPage, and RefineRE. San Francisco startups ZeroDown and Divvy also entered the D-FW market with lease-to-own digital specialties.

How did a tech guy like Hamidi get into real estate? In his LinkedIn profile, Hamidi attributed it to a bad experience in buying and selling a home in 2009.
“I joined forces with a few developers and founded TheRedPin, a mission-oriented startup, Canada’s first online brokerage, and Canada’s largest real estate technology startup.”
TheRedPin closed in 2018 after a seven-year run. Hamidi, who initially considered starting Rechat in San Francisco, moved from Toronto to Dallas in 2016 to get his latest startup going.
He brought in Kevin Smith, former Yahoo CIO and Broadcast.com vice president of technology, to serve as an advisor.
At launch, Rechat’s customers include multiple Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates, Douglas Elliman Real Estate, and a series of independent brokerages nationwide.
The company has raised nearly $6 million and grew its subscriber base by over 900 percent in 2020. In 2016, Rechat raised $2 million in funding led by Hangar Ventures.
