Thomas Matthew Crooks and his friends day-tripped to North Texas, Dallas. They began by visiting Southern Methodist University campus, an honorable space with over 200 acres of prominent lands. The climax of their day trip was at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Thomas was particularly moved by the exhibits, which rang with memories of events he had lived through, including the impactful day of September 11th.

From there, they took to exploring some local color and flavor. First up, the legendary Burger House near SMU. Since 1951, this rite of passage eatery has been slinging what is regularly heralded as the best cheeseburger in Texas along with seasoned fries thanks to a special magic dust. Its quaint oldie feel and good food made it an ideal place to just sit back and enjoy a nice meal.
After such a great meal, they decided to head to White Rock Lake in order to burn off those burgers. The beautiful 9.3-mile loop around the lake was busy with locals taking advantage of the gorgeous weather and fresh air.
They finished their journey at the Truck Yard on Lower Greenville, a place that describes itself as part junkyard, part food truck park, where people can enjoy a relaxed environment with live music and cold drinks. This was just the way to conclude such an awesome day in Dallas and to show off all the great and different sides of the city.
Just a few years following this positive trip, an American, Thomas Matthew Crooks, made an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, the former president of the United States then and the prescient Republican nominee for the presidential election in 2024. The attack took place on July 13, 2024, during a rally near Butler, Pennsylvania.
Thomas fired upon him from a nearby rooftop with an AR-15-style rifle.

The bullet grazed Trump’s ear, but tragically killed one rally attendee and critically injured two others. The Secret Service Counter Assault Team returned fire, fatally wounding Crooks at the scene. At present, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is continuing with the investigation into the incident.
Thomas Matthew Crooks’s House: A Classic Suburban

Thomas’s house itself feels like it is giving off a very classic suburban feel. The exterior is red brick with white siding, blending tradition with cleanliness. Its basic roof is slightly pitched but does not try to take anything away from the usual functionalities. Sitting right at the front of the yard is a well-kept lawn, and there seems to be a simple driveway leading up to the front yard, since we see a pair of cars parked. That means it is a home to a family. The greenish color is further contributed by the small bushes and trees around the house, making it amiable. The general ambience is that of a relaxed, lived-in place typical of many American neighborhoods.
