This Sparkman Club Estates Home is Perfect For a Pandemic Plant Parent

The buying power in Dallas is real right now, with homes in the $400s and $500s selling like homes in the $300s were about three years ago. With homes moving fast, you have to either whittle down your “must-have” list until it resembles Kate Moss back in the 1990s or you miss out. For people who became a plant parent during quarantine and now have a sizable collection of leafy babes, plenty of windows and tons of natural light are non-negotiable.

If you became a plant mom or dad during the pandemic, this Sparkman Club Estates ranch is going to have you calling your Realtor because your houseplants are about to have a room of their own.

First, let’s talk about the non-houseplant rooms — just kidding you can totally put a houseplant in every single room of this home because there are windows EVERYWHERE.

With more than 2,100 square feet, this home feels both cozy and spacious thanks to the updated floor plan that connects the formal living and dining rooms to the den and onward to the kitchen. The space is beautifully cohesive thanks to the wood-look tile floors that span the length of the rooms all the way through the kitchen.

The windows in both the formal living room and the family room beyond offer plenty of rays for your succulents, while the kitchen beyond is a great spot for your ivys and that random lily you got as a gift years ago.

A quick note on the neighborhood: If you’re not crazy about houseplants, Sparkman Club Estates is perhaps one of the hidden gems of Northwest Dallas because of its gorgeous tree-lined streets that make you feel like you’re in a veritable urban forest.

The eat-in kitchen was recently updated, says listing agent Noelle Coats with Redfin. The stainless-steel appliance package includes a built-in wine cooler, which will be perfect for entertaining your fellow plant parents when you celebrate that big monstera buy.

The bedrooms are sizable and the bathrooms have been updated a bit, which is a huge plus considering the home’s 1957 build date. The primary suite has a large walk-in closet, and the two other bedrooms are connected by a Jack-and-Jill bath.

While all of the space in the main house is wonderful and accomodating, the solarium is just *chef’s kiss*.

The tile floor of this huge solarium is a great surface for all of those plant stands and racks you acquired while hiding out from a deadly pandemic. Grow lights? Who needs ’em with this enormous, glass-enclosed room that currently serves as a home gym, though I’m already mentally moving in with a rattan conversation set and all of my tropicals.

Add in a glass of wine from that wine fridge just a room over in the kitchen and we’re set, folks. Heck, this would make a great place to office at home, too. Just imagine how great the light would be in here for all of those Zoom calls.

Noelle Coats with Redfin Corporation has listed 3656 Princess Lane for $590,000.
