This Reimagined Southlake Stunner Will Rank No. 1 in Your Heart

A recently published story in Veranda magazine defining the “25 Richest Cities in America for 2024,” places our own Southlake, Texas, at No. 4. If you’ve ever driven through any of this boomburb’s 22.5 square miles, you know why. Best known for its exemplary neighborhoods, highly ranked education system, and excellent quality of life, Southlake has not stopped growing since the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport was built in the 1970s. Ebby Halliday herself quickly realized its meteoric rise in the ‘90s and opened the company’s first Southlake office in 1998 – even before the iconic Southlake Town Square was open. Fast forward to today, and it’s the No. 1 brokerage in Southlake for both sales volume and units sold.

Before we introduce today’s featured property, it’s a good time to meet its listing agents. They just happen to be the No. 1 team at the No. 1 brokerage in Southlake: Kelly Marcontell and Susan Gilchrest. If you want to be in good hands, go somewhere else. If you want to be in the best hands, here you go! They have closed more than $1 billion in sales during their careers, were the No. 1 duo for all of Ebby Halliday Realtors in 2022, and last year finished Q4 at the very top again after adding four new agents (to keep up with demand).

“We have both raised our families here,” says Kelly. “So we know the schools, the neighborhoods, the best-kept secrets … everything. We also are actively involved in the community – professionally, personally, and philanthropically – so we can cast a wide net looking for buyers and finding off-market listings.”

The duo is known for having exquisite listings, and 1200 Stanhope Court is no exception, though it is exception-al.

The curb appeal is nothing short of captivating. The lawn is so manicured, you half expect when you pull up to see a team of tiny fairies armed with hedge trimmers diligently working 24/7. The front porch with a recessed front door provides a chic portal into the embrace of this 2000 home, expertly brought into 2024 by Kettering Ideas, LLC. A quick Google Maps search (dated 2018) proves just how drastic the transformation has been.

“They took this home to the studs and left no square foot to chance when they rebuilt,” says Susan. “While the details and scale are amazing, it also doesn’t feel like an 8,800-square-foot home because it was re-designed to be cozy and intimate.”

Staging by George Bass Stage and Design

As you step inside, the interior seamlessly blends classic Southern hospitality and antique elements with modern convenience. An office with built-ins and a fireplace is to your right, and a spacious dining room with a climate-controlled 300+ bottle wine room is to your left. Straight ahead is the family room with three sets of arched glass doors overlooking the gorgeous outdoors, which we’ll devote more time to in a minute.

The kitchen is a culinary haven, boasting enough counter space to make Paula Deen green with envy. The layout and appliances leave you ready to tackle any culinary challenge – or, let’s be honest, to reheat last night’s takeout. Behind the impressive 8-burner gas range and the rustic (also hidden) vent-a-hood, are a prep kitchen and pantry with lots of storage to help minimize countertop clutter.

The downstairs primary has everything you want and nothing you don’t. Simple yet stylized. You’ll feel at one with the outdoors with all the natural light and treescapes, and very secluded because, after all, you’re on a one-acre lot. Are you quite the clotheshorse? You might be tempted to make an offer based on the walk-in closet alone and its adjacent yoga/pilates room.

The upstairs is practically its own residence with five bedrooms (three ensuite, one with four built-in bunk beds), living room, game room, bonus room, and second laundry room, plus a complete one-bedroom apartment with living room and kitchen. Sounds perfect for multi-generational living, right? If only… If only, what? It had an elevator? Cue the emoji surprise face – of course it does!

Now back to that backyard. In true Texas fashion, this one is more than just a pretty exterior living space. It’s a destination in itself, complete with a pool and detached outdoor living center that will turn even the most die-hard vegetarian into a grilling enthusiast. There’s covered seating, a fireplace, pool bath, and plentiful parking with two aprons and a circle drive for guests in addition to your four garage spaces. So picturing yourself hosting a Super Bowl bash here is easy, the scent of grilled ribs permeating the air as your friends and neighbors gather ’round the TV to cheer on the Cowboys (we’re holding Jerry to his promise next year).

Priced at $4.89 million, it’s ready and waiting for you to move right in. Give Marcontell + Gilchrest a call or shoot them an email for a personal showing. Contact Kelly (972-743-9171) | [email protected]) or Susan (817-718-1242) | [email protected]) today!
