When I asked Ebby Halliday’s Aja Shroll what her favorite thing about the house at 1645 Nob Hill Drive is, she said the street and then she invited me out to take a look. She wasn’t wrong. Nob Hill is over in Kessler Park. It’s set back in a way that you’d never realize it was there unless that’s exactly where you’re headed.

It’s everything you love about Kessler Woods…gentle hills, lots of trees, fertile greenery, and incredible houses on every lot.

Built in 1986, this is one of the newer homes in this architecturally-significant neighborhood. It’s a split-level modern with a private deck out back, a balcony off the primary bedroom, and no neighbors out front. The next street of houses is about 20 feet up so when you look out your front window, there’s an ivy-covered cliff. It feels very Laurel Canyon and the owner said that’s the one comment he gets the most…it feels like you’re definitely not in Dallas.

The owner had a lot of insider info. He said this development was George Kessler’s favorite. His runner up? Highland Park. Little known fact that he developed out there.

This house. It’s just incredible. It’s a tri-level with one of the only attached garages over there. It’s situated on the lot so you can sit out on the deck and no one can see you.

Inside we settled on Miami Vice contemporary. Like I already said, it was built in 1986 and you’re definitely feeling those vibes. The stainless-steel casing around the fireplace has proven timeless and it’s as hip today as it was back then.

It was originally a three bedroom with four full baths, but one bedroom was converted into a library with walls and walls of built-in bookcases. What happened to the bathroom? Well, it’s now a climate-controlled wine cellar with room for all your vintage stock.

There are ultimately three separate living spaces. One on the lowest level with a built-in bar for entertaining and freshly laid tile. Then there’s the main living on the main floor and upstairs there’s an open living loft that would be the perfect secondary workspace.

More noted notables…The primary bathroom is massive and the oversized shower is loaded with all the nozzles. The kitchen is extraordinary, too…custom European cabinetry, Viking appliances and a SubZero refrigerator.

It’s a special house that’s ready for the next very special owners. And to top it all off, it’s zoned for Rosemont Elementary. Give Shroll a call and get on in there to take a look before it’s gone. She has 1645 Nob Hill Road listed at $775,000.
