This Downtown McKinney Reno Might Make You Want to Relo

Downtown McKinney is the cutest. I was there last week, and my story checks out. ADORABLE.

And guess what else? This little gem is within walking distance of the square. THE SQUARE. Home of Emporium Pies, tons of shops, restaurants, and oh, what’s that? EVENTS.

It has such a small-town vibe that it feels separate from the city. It’s like its own little world over there.

Annnnnnd … downtown McKinney is filled with Craftsman cottages, Tudor-style homes, and even the occasional midcentury. When buyers like a style, they really like that style, and today I’m presenting this one as a midcentury maybe. If you like the look of a Craftsman but are pretty into updates and also budget-conscious, this might be the one for you.

Built in 1951 and recently renovated inside and out. The entire yard – front and back – was freshly sodded, mulch added, and drought-tolerant plants, too. The siding looks fresh and so does the porch floor and the board-on-board fence.

Inside there’s vinyl plank flooring throughout all the main areas and the bedrooms. The consistency of one floor makes the home feel more spacious. Well, that plus the removal of walls.

In the bathroom, it’s Trend City. White and black with a cool hexagonal tile on the floor paired with white modern vanities.

There are new windows throughout and fixtures, too, including an aviator chandelier in the main living room.

This is the sort of house that’s been popping up in Oak Cliff for years and it’s interesting to see it so far up north. But again, downtown McKinney has the same walkable, cute shop vibes you find in the Bishop Arts District and it’s always poppin’.

It’s a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home that’s also near a mega aquatic center. There isn’t a garage but there is a nice-sized driveway just begging for some covered parking.
