Oh, this is a cute one. Up in Richardson, there is an incredible remodel that is a total delight. It’s so well done, with great choices all the way from countertops to the clay-fired look of the tile on the backsplash in the kitchen.
It’s fantastic.
Not only that, it was very recently completed by the sellers. They reconfigured the house, beefed up the kitchen, carved out a dedicated space for the washer and dryer, and even added a few extra square feet to the primary bedroom.
Built in 1952, we all know those houses aren’t huge, but what sets this one apart — aside from the truly impeccable remodel — is the fact that thanks to some very clever storage solutions, it feels bigger than it is.
Plus, it flows like a freaking champ.
More Storage Than You Would Believe
But, first, more about that storage. In the hallway, there’s a length of mailbox-style storage cabinets. They’re shallow so they don’t eat up the hallway, but they’re handy. They’re the perfect place to stash out-of-season clothes, linens, craft supplies, anything your little heart desires.
In the formal dining room, on either side of the walkthrough to the living area, there are two, almost floor-to-ceiling modern cabinets. So smart.
The kitchen has a booth to maximize seating and space. Like, this kitchen is so big there’s an island and it doesn’t feel cramped. Not something most 1950s kitchens are capable of.
Design Talent Runs in The Family
There’s a lot to love about this house. If you’re like dang, how come I can’t get my house to look like that?!, don’t worry, they had help. There’s a professional designer in the extended family.
At one point the garage was turned into the living room and it’s one of the most seamless transitions I’ve seen – inside and out.
If I listed out everything new in this one, we’d run out of website. But here are some highlights: New A/C, tankless water heater, professional landscaping with sprinklers and drip irrigation, kitchen was completely redone with new appliances, new paint, bathrooms remodeled with heated floors, new plumbing and electric, a new gas meter and line … and that’s still not even everything.
Add to that the fact that it listed for $350,000? Crazy.
Dave Perry-Miller’s Michele Balady Beach said they have selected an offer on 414 Marilu Street. Not a shocker on a house this cute!!
