Thanks to Robbie Briggs for reminding us to pause, open the door, and say thank you tonight at 7 p.m.

Fort Worth, Dallas and cities across North Texas are ready to cheer — tonight at 7 p.m., sharp — for health care workers, police officers, firefighters, park rangers, code officers, workers providing essential services and all others who are helping respond to the spread of the coronavirus. “Mayor [Eric] Johnson came up with this idea,” says Fort Worth mayor Betsy Price, “and I called him and I said, ‘How about we do this together, Eric? We’ll do DFW.’ And he thought it was a great idea. And so now we are encouraging the other mayors to have their citizens step out at 7 p.m. and clap or cheer or turn their porch lights on to celebrate.” Dallas mayor Johnson had called for a citywide ovation tonight, Thursday, April 16, for workers on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Dallas is working diligently to deal with this pandemic,” Mayor Johnson says. “I want to set aside time for our city to show its collective appreciation for people who deal with the stress of working on our behalf while others stay home to stop the spread of COVID-19. We have heroes among us, and they deserve to know they have supporters all around them.” Please cheer respectfully, tonight, at 7 p.m., sharp, for all of our North Texas heroes. The Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty family will be there, across North Texas — where we work, serve, live and love! #inthistogether
