Flower Mound posted the highest rent at $1,526 (despite only having a minimal increase of 0.1 percent), higher than Farmers Branch and Frisco with average rents of $1,382 and $1,343, respectively. In Coppell, rents have stagnated, decreasing by 1 percent year over year.

Greenville recorded the highest rent increase in the Dallas metro by year end at 10.8 percent, followed by Farmers Branch (6.8 percent) and Desoto (5.5 percent).

By comparison, Dallas had an increase of 2.7 percent, with a city average of $1,182 by the end of 2018, almost $100 more than in Fort Worth at $1,083.

Nationally,  average apartment rents were $1,419, with a 3.1 percent increase year over year.
