Located in the shadow of Sunset High School in Kessler Plaza, the updated bungalow at 2703 Alco Avenue has a funky little outside and a lotta fresh inside. The 1,703-square-foot three-bedroom, two-bath is listed for $375,000 by Kayaneh Wood and Brian Davis of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International. The homeowner Sabrina Combs gave us the scoop about the before and after details in this 1967-built home.

From the front porch deck, a gallery entry hallway with wide 3/4-plank hardwoods extends to a spacious open-concept living area with vaulted ceilings, fireplace, modern kitchen, dining, and breakfast areas. Previous owners had enclosed the step-down garage and patio, seen partially in the “before” photo above, but it felt displaced from the rest of the home, Combs says. She reinstated the garage and raised the floor to become an open dining area next to the kitchen. The rest of the previously enclosed space became a covered patio area accessible by French doors in the dining area.

The old galley kitchen was rearranged to put the stove where a desk area was and an island where the stove was. The new sleek kitchen features custom alder wood cabinets with hideaway trash can and deep drawer space, quartz countertops, and stainless appliances. The upper cabinets were replaced by open shelving and herringbone tile backsplash that covers the entire wall.

The master bedroom has light hardwoods, a bumped out garden window, en suite bath with dual vanities and modern shower, and walk-in closet. The second bath is decked in custom tile flooring and subway tile shower.
