Do you have a design you’re itching to bring to life — and then consume? Lucky for you (and your dreams about demolishing structures like an angry, radioactive lizard) registration is still open for AIA Fort Worth’s Gingerbread Build-Off.
The event, which is a fundraiser for AIA Fort Worth’s educational and public programming, brings together architects to compete against one another for the title of most-impressive edible structure. Raising funds for AIA Fort Worth’s exhibits, lectures, walking tours, and college scholarships never tasted so good!
The Gingerbread Build-Off is hosted by the WRG Fort Worth furniture showroom, where AIA Fort Worth members and their teammates will deliver their pre-constructed confections. The gingerbread homes or structures have to be entirely edible, save for the base it’s built on or any lighting (oooooh, fancy!).
So, what’s at stake? Besides bragging rights, AIA Fort Worth is handing out awards (and cash prizes) in the following categories:
- Iconic Architecture (Judged Category)
- Tallest Standing Structure (Judged Category)
- Favorite Holiday Themed (Voted on by General Public)
Judges will decide who wins the Holiday Theme and Iconic Architecture categories. However, attendees of the Dec. 10 reception will vote for the “People’s Favorite.”
