The North Texas Relocation Professional fall conference is just around the corner, and professionals will be gathering to hear speakers, network with one another, and check out a host of vendors.

Set for Oct. 3, the conference at the Omni Hotel at Park West (1590 Lyndon B Johnson Freeway, Dallas) costs $150 for members and $200 at the door.

The NTRP connects “leaders in relocation, real estate, and human resources,” according to its website.

“The purpose of the conference is to offer members and guests the latest trends and information within our industry space,” said Deb Borrell, executive vice-president and director of relocation and business development for Allie Beth Allman & Associates. “We learn about new information, and we hear other perspectives about industry information. We come up with ideas and solutions with changes in our industry.”

Conference lineup

Keynote speakers at the Oct. 3 NTRP event include Lynden Melmed, partner at Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP and former Chief Counsel at USCIS, and Caroline Carter, author of “Smart Moves: How to Save Time and Money While Transitioning Your Home and Life.”

In addition to the speakers, a Relocation Management Corporate Panel also will hold a discussion during the day-long conference.

“It is not rare for us to get together in a non-competitive space,” Borrell said. “We have a non-solicitation rule within the group. The NTRP has evolved from a couple of prior groups that date back to the 1980s. We have raised over $200,000 over the course of time [for local charities] and have awarded 90-plus scholarships.”

Numerous benefits are available to members of NTRP, Borrell added.

The conference kicks off with a happy hour at the Omni Hotel bar area at 6 p.m. Oct. 2, the night before the conference.
