We know Julio was responsible for the goodness that knocked me over at 3241 Merrell Circle. Just found out that Julio also handled the renovation down at Lake Austin Spa Resort, where I am taking my daughter next weekend for her birthday. According to an article in F!D Luxe, “McAdams tapped his longtime Dallas decorator, Julio Quiñones, to redecorate 14 adjoining lake-view cottages on the lush property. The rooms are now dressed in a nature-inspired sage, teal and taupe color palette complemented by watercolor works by Dallas artist Scott Winterrowd, the curator of education at the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University. “

Oh we can hardly wait to see and enjoy — no blogging next weekend! Mike McAdams is one of the co-owners of Lake Austin Spa Resort, and he apparently lives in Dallas — methinks on Overbrook. (Bet his house is stunning!) I feel like we are heading to Calistoga Ranch just 3 hours south of here. OK, maybe 4. They say McAdams transformed a ’40s-era former fishing camp, which has served as a nudist colony, a rodeo ranch and a fat farm, into what last year Travel + Leisure’s called the third-best destination spa in the world. Right here in Texas. Calistoga Ranch, near Napa, was once a trailer park that was turned into one of the most sophisticated second home communities in the wine country of California.
