Just found out that Julio also handled the renovation down at Lake Austin Spa Resort, where I am taking my daughter next weekend for her birthday. According to an article in F!D Luxe, “McAdams tapped his longtime Dallas decorator, Julio Quiñones, to redecorate 14 adjoining lake-view cottages on the lush property. The rooms are now dressed in a nature-inspired sage, teal and taupe color palette complemented by watercolor works by Dallas artist Scott Winterrowd, the curator of education at the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University. “
Oh we can hardly wait to see and enjoy — no blogging next weekend! Mike McAdams is one of the co-owners of Lake Austin Spa Resort, and he apparently lives in Dallas — methinks on Overbrook. (Bet his house is stunning!) I feel like we are heading to Calistoga Ranch just 3 hours south of here. OK, maybe 4. They say McAdams transformed a ’40s-era former fishing camp, which has served as a nudist colony, a rodeo ranch and a fat farm, into what last year Travel + Leisure’s called the third-best destination spa in the world. Right here in Texas. Calistoga Ranch, near Napa, was once a trailer park that was turned into one of the most sophisticated second home communities in the wine country of California.
